We are able to offer some pupils the opportunity to work with Helen Wilson from ‘Open Minds’ to explore the technique of Mindfulness.
Mindfulness is an approach available now in many Devon schools, where groups of pupils or even whole classes can learn techniques to help them deal with daily life, school pressures and sometimes those situations outside school which can cause anxiety in children.
The sessions are fun, light and very interactive. Each session will include games, activities and mindfulness practices designed to deepen awareness, relax the mind and body to enhance emotional wellbeing.
The techniques have a proven track record of helping children improve:
- Concentration and focus
- Self regulation and calming
- Empathy and kindness
Today we were exploring feelings and where we feel them in our bodies.
