Cockwood have made links with Oxford School in Munster, North Germany.
Class 2 have been learning to write persuasively in Literacy this term. They did lots of research into what makes a good leaflet; before making their own leaflets to persuade people to come to Cockwood or visit Wembworthy!
Year 5/6 children whose farm safety posters were chosen as runners up in the Bath and West Show. The children won a certificate and a money prize.
The children will be working next term with a large diverse school in Southampton to learn and understand how different communities work together.
The children have been working hard in the village, digging an allotment. They have been supported by Bicton College and the children are growing seeds, planting them and hope to sell their final produce. The children have been working very hard and are growing strawberry plants, lettuces, red and white onions, spring onions, fennel,…
Children from year 2, 3 and 4 took part in a dance festival at Exminster School. The children danced as machines with some complicated patterns. The year 4, 5 and 6 children took part in a Mauri War dance called the Hakka. The children had strong movements and made some quite terrifying faces.
Children joined with members of the Cockwood WI to share all the news and updates that have been happening in school. Sally our kitchen manager cooked all adults and children a delicious lunch. Thank you Sally.

The children had a wonderful Harvest Festival at Cofton Church. The theme this year was Sharing, beautifully demonstrated through songs, readings, drama ,dance and a quiz!
